Terms of Service

Last updated 28 September 2026.

Akteora is run by [Legal business name]. When these terms say “we” or “us”, that’s who we mean. By creating an account or using Akteora, you agree to these terms. If you sign up for a business, you’re agreeing for that business too, so please make sure you’re allowed to.

Your account

Please give us accurate details and keep your sign-in safe. You need to be old enough to sign a contract where you live. The owner of an account is responsible for what happens in it, including anything done by teammates they invite or API keys they create. If you think someone has got into your account, email us at [support@akteora.com] straight away.

Plans and payments

You can use Akteora for free, or pay for a plan. Our pricing page lists what each plan includes. Prices are in US dollars.

Payments are handled by Paddle.com, our reseller. Paddle is the merchant of record: it takes your payment, adds any sales tax or VAT, and sends your invoices. When you buy a plan, you also agree to Paddle’s buyer terms.

Paid plans renew every month until you cancel. You can cancel whenever you like from the Billing page. You keep your plan until the end of the month you’ve paid for, and then your account moves to the free plan. If you switch plans partway through a month, the price is adjusted for the days that are left, and we show you the amount before you confirm.

If a payment fails, nothing stops working for 14 days, which gives you time to update your card. After that your account becomes read-only until the payment goes through, so you can’t create anything new. We never delete your testimonials because of a failed payment.

If we ever raise the price of the plan you’re on, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before it affects you. If you signed up at a founding price during early access, you keep it for as long as your subscription stays active. Refunds are covered in our Refund Policy.

Testimonials have to be real

Akteora exists so people can trust the testimonials they read. So when you use it, please don’t:

  • publish fake reviews, or ones written by you, by someone else, or by AI;
  • hide that a customer was paid or rewarded for their testimonial;
  • import reviews that aren’t genuine, that you’ve edited, or that you don’t have the right to use (we keep a record of who confirmed each import);
  • publish a testimonial without the customer’s consent, or keep it up after they ask you to take it down;
  • use Akteora for spam, or for anything unlawful, harmful or misleading.

How you use testimonials in your own marketing is your responsibility. That includes following the rules on reviews and endorsements that apply to you, such as the US Federal Trade Commission’s rule on consumer reviews and testimonials.

Your content

The testimonials, recordings, logos and anything else you or your customers send through Akteora are yours. We don’t own them. You let us store, process, transcribe and show them only to run Akteora for you, and only in the way you choose, for example on a widget or a public page you’ve set up. You can export your testimonials at any time, on any plan, even after you stop paying.

When we handle personal details of the people who send you testimonials, we do it on your behalf and follow your instructions. Our Privacy Policy explains how.

The service

Akteora is in early access. We work hard to keep it running and to keep your data safe, and we back everything up every day, but we can’t promise it will never go down or never have a bug. We’ll keep improving it, and if we ever remove something a paid plan depends on, we’ll let you know first. Each plan’s limits are shown on the pricing page and inside your account.

Closing your account

You can stop using Akteora whenever you want. To close your account and delete its data, email us at [support@akteora.com]. We’ll give you a chance to export first, and we’ll delete everything within 30 days.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, especially the rules about real testimonials, or that puts Akteora or other customers at risk. When we reasonably can, we’ll warn you first and let you export your data.

Liability

We provide Akteora as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for indirect losses, like lost profits or lost business, and the most we’ll be liable for is what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem. None of this takes away rights you have that the law doesn’t allow us to limit, including your rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is important, we’ll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Akteora after that, you’re accepting the new terms.

Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of [Country]. If you have any questions about them, email us at [support@akteora.com].
